Remember Forest Gump?

I told u it wasn't cheap, luckily we had coupons n had a discount of $4!
Waterworld. It was a fabulous performance! Whilst waiting for the show to start, the performers entertained us with their hilarious antics
Flash Flood.
hmmm it was getting late. which way to go?
Chinese Theatre looking grand.
Several prints were made on the flooring in front of the Chinese Theatre. There was some familiar prints! Even John Woo was there!
Day 2: Woke up super early. 6am n the both of us were rolling about in bed. Hey..not what u think la..it's a bit too early for that. Went to recee the place and found Mac Donalds. They had interesting stuff. Ate the Mac Girdle which was actually like Mac muffin just that the burger is soaked in maple syrup and it has a nicer bite...Darling dearest had the Mc Skillet which was actually burito. Nice on the first bite, but thereafter it's gets a little overwhelmingly flour-y!

After a hearty b/f, we went to Universal Studio. we were there at 8am n they were closed. But that's good, coz we went round takin shots. Boy did we managed to get some nice shots. But we couldn't bum around till 10am thus we drove out to Ventura Blvd to check it out. I thought there were some nice shops at that place according to my online research but i guess it's either bogus or it closed down. nevertheless, it was interesting to dr around. Finally we went back at 10am, n SHIT LA, we had to pay $10 parking!! But okok, it was worthwhile coz we spent the whole day there. The tix wasn't exactly cheap though. We bump into Spongebob, spiderman n several other characters. Saw the infamous Waterworld. THat was realli a sight. also hopped on the tram to tour the studios. It's so amazing that they erected the whole town from Desperate Housewife and created a plane crash scene from War of the Worlds. it's also equally amazing when we stopped by this slope where the tour guide "Made" it flood! it was a flash flood which was real!ever imagined how the fires in subways were sparked? well they did a live demonstration n boy was it hot!we also caught a glimpse of the various vehicles used in movies and the set of fast n Furious. we then went on to the special effects section where they demonstrated how some effects were done. they made a "wolf" come to life! We later visited this place called DRIFT where there was an explosion (meant to be of coz). it was all 100% real! the fire was super hot. Drift i think was name after this show about air trapped in placed like a lift or room, causing great explosion when the door opens to allow oxygen to enter. U can imagine the impact. It totally rocked! Universal was super huge, but it was soon dark (it was only 4+pm though), and we decided to head off. Contemplated to eat at Hard Rock but thought of doing the walk of Fame along Hollywood blvd. So off we went. Prior to that, we saw in the mag that there's this place called Pig N whistler n though we should try out. It was near Chinese Theatre. We found it but it looked ex, went to Hooters but it was packed, n ended up having more buritos at Baja Franchise. Some mexican food. THe portion was yet again, HUGE. now why am i not surprised.

13 Dec --Our mth long honeymoon in the States begins!

I finally saw those tress we always see on movies!
OH MY GOSH! FAt burger's Oreo Shake ROCKZ!

I think we overordered. But a look around, everyone is doing the same! Wastage @ its peak!
Oh beer! Glorious Beer!

Been back for a couple of wks now, but engine still can't seem to get fully charged. Perhaps been away for too long, mountains of things start to accumulate. Finally got the time to sit down and get started on blogging the events down before I forget. Yes, age is kicking in, I'm becoming a wee bit forgetful. Hv to write down little notes to remind me what I have to do the next day. With the Lunar New Year round the corner, it doesn't help, coz the stress is overwhelming.

Alright, back to the honeymoon escapade:

Departed from Changi Airport (too bad it wasn't fm T3) @ 950am on 13 Dec 2007. MIL was nice to drive us there at abt 630am. well, I left the car for her to use anyway. The flight was long but nice, coz food was just right in front of me each time i wake up from a nap! We arrived at Japan Narita Airport @ 540pm. Din get to go Duty free to check out the Hello Kitties (not exactly a big fan but still, Japan leh!) coz had to board the plane again at 605pm. It was pretty dumb coz all of us had to disembark n board again. DUH. Finally after god knows how many hours (i tink total was 15hrs), we arrived at LA International Airport. LAX.

At LAX: Had a rented car waiting for us. Had to lug 4 huge luggages up the shuttle to head on to the rental section. I m very impressed by their transport n systematic ways. We rented a mid size, boy! It wasn't exactly the type of mid size i had in mind! It was like an SUV. in fact i tink it was! I mean something like my baby Vios would be a compact in the States! anyway, it wasn't getting early, we were both super shack from the flight, though we watched movies after movies ie Rush hour 1, 2, 3 (Oh man, Chris Tucker was hilarious...born in the year of the rat??..haha), Secret...sad show.... So off we went in search of our hotel along Hollywood Blvd. oooooooooooo I'm about to stay with the STARS!. YAH RITE.dream on babe! it's Hollywood Inn Express we were staying, which was in the middle of Thai town. not exactly the best "Suite" one can imagine for a honeymoon, but beggars can't be choosers. N surprisingly, all the so called inns and motels are all huge in the states! they all come with King size beds for us to roll in! *raise eyebrows*. Along the way, we passed by Sunset Blvd and Santa Monica, and poor us, were hungry again!. So we had to stop for a snack. Guess what was it? No prize for the winner la..it's BURGER. what else. It's FAT BURGER. I din exactly like it, but i LOVE their orea shake. They used PURE icecream to blend. SINFUL!. Dinner was great. well anything's great when u are hungry. It was a huge plate of crabmeat (I dun mean the dodo brand fish meat u get in SG, IT"S REAL CRABMEAT) fried rice and Tom yam soup, cooked by authentic Thais but flavoured for the westerners. Wasn't spicy enuff but with a beer or two, anything tastes good. Dont understand why they've gotto make it in such huge portions. even the americans can't finish!. Anyhow dinner ended pretty early and we were asleep by about 8pm. SNORE.................

200 Pound Beauty-- Solid

Saturday, December 1, 2007

Great Show! Watched it with apprehension initially. Thought it'd be some bimbotic show, but towards the end, my tears just rolled down uncontrollably! It's about this fat gal trying to win the love of this handsome hunk (DROOL) secretly. .The poor thing is always ostrocized by public for being fat. Finally she can't take it and went for an overall plastic surgery. It was a massive op that the surgeon did not want to do it for her! but she managed to blackmail him as he was her customer in phone sex!hahaha... Apart from being a phone sex operator, Hanna (the gal's name) was also a back singer. She sang behind the screens whilst the actual beautiful n slim singer went on stage. Pooor ger! Finally she transformed but alas! her hunk didn't like the idea of plastic surgery! She lost herself and become too engross in this "slim" world. To hide her past identity, she even didn't want to acknowledge her mentally ill father. Finally, on the day of her concert, she broke down n admitted her shame. That was so damn touching la! Must watch with your love ones! even my darling sobbed!!!

PS: Must we always be obsessed with materialistic items and superficial stuff like outter beauty and being slim??

The Story behind the Red Umbrella

Many of u must be wondering why was I sheltered with a red umbrella on my wedding? Well, not only u are asking that question. I've been asking several oldies that question, including my parents, and no one could give mi the answer. Some said it's to ensure i have a roof on top of me, some says it's just for luck. Others just tell me it's tradition. Geez.

Finally I got some answers today from an aunt. It seems tat there is a believe that a wedding chicken will come create havock as the bride leaves the parents house. thus, to appease n fend it off, out comes the red umbrella and some rice scattered to divert its attention. This is a typical Cantonese belief, not sure if other dialects have it though. So now we know!

My beautiful chairs are finally here!

Orange Swan Chair
It's a classic isn't it?

After cursing at Gnee Hong for almost 4 mths, the long awaited chairs are finally here. Okok, i admit, they are worth waiting for. 6 pcs of dining chairs. Cream with steel legs, adding on to the elegance of the house and brightening the whole place. The comfortable orange swan chair is a beauty which gives our master bedroom character! A designer chair worth buying! Total damage == $868

Another addition to our love nest is the newly setup coffee corner. Bought @ Ikea for $128, this stainless steel kitchen trolley is an investment for years to come (hopefully)
